The Ritual of Mask Making: Play, Performance, and Self-Permission Workshop

Hylton Performing Arts Ctr, CVPA Shared Classroom, Hylton Performing Arts Ctr, CVPA Shared Classroom

4 - 5

Registration for this workshop opens mid-September.

In this workshop, participants will create a face mask, allowing Veterans and their adult family members to express their emotional journeys through art. Creating masks provides a symbolic way to explore and represent inner emotions, offering a tangible outlet for processing the complexities of trauma and recovery. The workshop will also encourage participants to share their stories through mask creations and accompanying personal reflections. Led by Steven Luu, U.S. Air Force Veteran, recent MFA graduate and artist in George Mason University's School of Art, this workshop is open and FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, military family members, and military caregivers ages 18 and older. Space is limited.

Please reference our information sheet for details, including minimum age requirement and community policies regarding Veterans and the Arts on-site workshops. More information about the on-site workshop will be provided to registrants by email.
