In Service of Theater: A Staged Reading Program for the Military and Veteran Community

23
28
This program brings Veterans and Servicemembers together in an exploration of texts about military life and service. Drawing from drama, poetry, and other narratives, participants will create a rehearsed reading for public performance in the intimate Gregory Family Theater under the guidance of Rick Davis, Dean of George Mason University's College of Visual and Performing Arts and Professor of Theater. Workshop rehearsals will include basic voice, speech, and acting techniques to increase confidence and build ensemble. Participants must attend all six workshops, culminating in a 7:30 p.m. performance on October 28. This workshop is open and FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, military family members, and military caregivers ages 18 and older. Space is limited.
Please reference our information sheet for details, including minimum age requirement and community policies regarding Veterans and the Arts on-site workshops. More information about the on-site workshop will be provided to registrants by email.
