Manassas Symphony Orchestra
American Landscapes

7
University of Houston clarinet professor Yevgeny Dokshansky takes the stage as the guest artist for this all-American concert, presenting the world premiere of Jacob Kohut’s clarinet concerto, “Three American Landscapes.” Dr. Jacob Kohut, a Northern Virginia- based composer, educator, and sergeant in the 257th Army Band, created this innovative work commissioned by the Manassas Symphony. Professor Dokshanksy, praised by BBC Music Magazine as “highly engaging,” brings his expressive artistry to the stage to introduce this exciting new addition to the clarinet repertoire. The program is rounded out with Aaron Copland’s evocative “Suite from Billy the Kid” and Ferde Grofe’s iconic “Grand Canyon Suite.”
$30 adult; $25 group (10+); free student and youth
