Saturdays, September 28 - November 2 from 1 - 3 p.m.
Location: Mason Community Arts Academy (Fairfax) and George Mason University School of Music (Fairfax)
Join us for a 6-week series designed for kids and teenagers where they will learn songwriting skills in a collaborative environment of small groups. Each participant will have the opportunity to compose his/her own song under the guidance of faculty from George Mason University’s School of Music and Mason Community Arts Academy. Students may bring melodies in-progress, or come seeking fresh ideas and creative ways to approach music composition. All students will have the opportunity to work in a professional recording studio, and perform their songs at the Hylton Center’s annual Celebrating Veterans and the Arts event on November 9.
This workshop series is FREE and open to military kids between the ages of 10 and 17. Space is limited.
