Today's performance of NEWSIES (January 13) will take place as scheduled.
Dear Hylton Center patrons,
We are happy to be able to support the Pied Piper Theater's decision to proceed with this afternoon's performance of NEWSIES in Merchant Hall. The Center for the Arts/Pied Piper Theater management made a careful decision based on road conditions and weather forecasts, coupled with the Hylton Center/George Mason University's commitment to provide a safe and accessible performance venue. As the host venue, we try to accommodate the needs and wishes of our partner organizations whenever possible, and in this case it is our collective judgment that a performance is warranted. The young artists of the Pied Piper Theater have worked hard to realize this wonderful production and it is terrific that they will have a final opportunity to perform it. We understand that, as with school (or other agency and event) closings or non-closings, there will be differences of opinion on this judgment, and ask for your understanding of the challenges and balances involved. As is traditional in the performing arts industry, refunds are only issued in the event of a cancelled performance. Please feel free to contact the producer (Pied Piper Theater) if you have any questions about tickets or anything else. Meanwhile, we're here at the Hylton Center with a clear sidewalk, a warm lobby, and a great performance ready to go at 3:00pm. We hope to see you here!

Pied Piper Theatre brings its high steppin’, sensational production of Disney’s NEWSIES to the Hylton Center stage! It’s the summer of 1899 and New York City’s newsboys are on strike protesting price hikes for the newspapers they are selling. NEWSIES won Tony awards in 2012 for Best Actor, Best Choreography, and Best Original Score. “Seize the Day” and see NEWSIES.
