Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with “music that’s brimming with energy and creative zeal” (Irish Music Magazine) performed by the popular and multi-award-winning quintet, Goitse (pronounced Go-wit-cha). A leader of a new generation of traditional Irish ensembles, the group shares a foot-stomping, hand-clapping musical experience that blends Celtic music standards with expressive original compositions. Goitse was crowned Live Ireland’s Traditional Group of the Year and Chicago's Irish American News Group of the Year. Their infectious sound is created by a stunning group of accomplished musicians known to the Limerick music scene: seven-time All-Ireland Banjo Champion James Harvey, World and All-Ireland Bodhrán champion Colm Phelan, gifted guitarist Conal O’Kane, pianist and piano accordionist Tadhg Ó Meachair, and fast-fiddle player Áine McGeeney, who is also the group’s vocalist.
Tickets: $44, $37, $26
A pre-performance discussion with Colm Phelan begins 45 minutes prior to the performance.
