Speaker: Dr. Ángel Cabrera

This forum will cover challenges facing U.S. higher education including:

• The steep and steady decline in public financial support
• The increasing necessity of philanthropy and public-private partnerships

• The rising number of "non-traditional" students
• Critics questioning the value of a college degree
• The loss of international students to Canada
• The emergence of online education
• Efforts to reach the tens of millions of U.S. adults who have some college credits but no degree

Dr. Ángel Cabrera is the president of George Mason University, Virginia's largest public research university operating several campuses across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region and in Incheon, South Korea. Before becoming Mason's president in 2012, Dr. Cabrera led the IE Business School in Madrid and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, now part of Arizona State University. Dr. Cabrera is the first native of Spain to serve as president of an American university.
